The overall angularity and geometric quality of patterns, that one can especially see in burdocks, lattices enclosing them as well as the slightly large Herati leaves with rectilinear edges hints at the tribal roots of this Sarouk rug, yet its elegant and refined execution through gorgeous colors and tightly woven pile makes it a rare and sought-after hybrid of many influences.

The deep midnight indigo field provides depth displaying the full beauty of the carpet’s highly luminous wool and creates a perfect background for the elegant colors of the motifs to shine: lattices in soft rust red, burdocks in celadon and deep moss and forest green and herati leaves in soft salmon pink.
